Abererch , Welsh Afon-ERCH , is a small town and former independent municipality on the river Erch on the Lleyn Peninsula ( Pen Llŷn ) in the County of Gwynedd , Wales . The place belongs to the former Cantref Eifionydd . Abererch has been incorporated into Llannor since 1934 . It is a place where a majority of Welsh is spoken. In Abererch there is a kindergarten, a primary school and a train station.
The station is on the railway line from the beach to the town and on to Pwllheli , the district capital. Originally, the line was operated by the Aberystwyth and Welsh Coast Railways , a branch line of the Cambrian Railways ( Llinell Cambria ) and was connected to the network of the Great Western Railway . After nationalization it was part of the London Midland region of British Railways until it was privatized again as Cambrian Coast Railways . The station is unoccupied, trains only stop here when needed.
According to the collection of poems Englynion y Beddeu ("The stanzas of the graves"), the grave of King Rhydderch Hael of Alt Clut is said to be in Abererch. Localization has not yet been successful.
