Abike Funmilola Egbeniyi (born October 23, 1994 ) is a Nigerian middle-distance runner .
Athletic career
Abike Egbeniyi gained her first international experience at the World Youth Championships in 2011 near Lille , where she was eliminated in the 800-meter run with 2: 15.30 minutes in the first round. Two years later she finished fifth at the Junior African Championships in Réduit in 2: 09.8 min and won the Nigerian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 37.9 min. In 2015 she took part in the Africa Games in Brazzaville for the first time and finished eighth there in 2: 09.36 minutes. In 2017 she took part with the relay at the World Championships in London , where she finished fifth with 3: 26.72 minutes in the final . In 2018 she was eliminated from the African Championships in Asaba with 2: 04.67 minutes in the first round and won the relay in 3: 31.17 minutes ahead of Kenya and Zambia.
In 2015 and 2017 Egbeniyi became Nigerian champion in the 800 meter run and in 2015 also over 1500 meters.
