Career
society
Diaby, born in Paris, learned to play football in the French capital. There he was active for the youth teams of Red Star Paris and Paris Saint-Germain , among others . In 2002 he switched to the AJ Auxerre junior team . In the new club he was able to win the U-16 championship in the first year. At the beginning of the 2004/05 season, the talent that could be used in defensive and central midfield moved up to their league squad . There he finally made his professional debut on August 14, 2004, when Diaby came on shortly before the end of the game against Stade Rennes . In January 2006 he was signed by Arsenal FC for around 3 million euros. On January 21 of the same year, the midfielder gave his first competitive game for the Londoners. He was able to score for Arsenal for the first time on April 1 when he was substituted on in the 5-0 win against Aston Villa . A month later, in the game against Sunderland FC , Diaby injured his ankle and was now out for eight months. It wasn't until January 9, 2007 that he made his comeback in the Gunners' dress . After Mathieu Flamini moved to AC Milan in the summer of 2008 , the young player competed with Denílson Pereira Neves and Alexandre Song for the place next to Cesc Fàbregas . But another injury, as often before, threw him back. In the course of the season, however, Diaby played its way back to the starting line-up and was often considered by coach Arsène Wenger .
In the summer of 2015 Diaby signed a two-year contract with the French first division club Olympique Marseille . His contract there ended in 2017 and he was no longer a club. Without having played at a new club in between, he announced the end of his career on February 26, 2019.
