Mathieu Flamini (born March 7, 1984 in Marseille ) is a French football player and entrepreneur . His father is from Italy and his mother from Corsica . He can be used both in defensive midfield and in the two full-back positions. He is currently under contract with Getafe FC .

Career

society

Mathieu Flamini began his career at Olympique Marseille , from whose junior school he emerged and for which he completed 14 appearances in Ligue 1 in the 2003/04 season . In 2004/05 he moved to England for Arsenal on a free transfer .

After initial difficulties in asserting himself against the big competition in his position, Mathieu Flamini became a regular at Arsenal FC and completed 102 top division games in four years.

For the 2008/09 season Flamini moved to AC Milan in Italy , but could not establish himself as a regular player. This was due, among other things, to a cruciate ligament rupture, which put him out of action for half a year in the 2011/12 season. From August 29, 2013 Flamini was back under contract with Arsenal FC . There he was able to establish himself again in the starting eleven straight away. In 2016 he moved to Crystal Palace . In February 2018 Flamini went to the Spanish first division club Getafe FC . His contract ran until the end of the 2017/18 season .

National team

On November 16, 2007 Flamini made his debut for the French national team in a 2-2 draw against Morocco . Although he was nominated for the 2008 European Football Championship in the expanded squad of Les Bleus , he was subsequently sorted out by coach Raymond Domenech . Flamini has not been nominated for the national team since then.

Private

In 2014, Flamini announced that it had invested several million euros in its company GFBiochemicals , which attempts to mass-produce levulinic acid in a cost-effective manner, which is considered a potential substitute for oil. The market to be conquered should be worth up to 28 billion euros. He founded the company together with his friend Pasquale Granata while he was active at AC Milan in 2008. The company employs 80 people at its Caserta site near Naples .
