Avraham Mordechai Alter (אברהם מרדכי אלתר; born December 25, 1866 in Góra Kalwaria ; died June 3, 1948 in Jerusalem , Israel ), his acronym is Re'em ( Hebrew רְאֵ"ם). He is also known as Imrei Emes . He was the fourth Gerrer Rebbe to succeed his father Yehudah Aryeh Leib Alter and is considered a well-known rabbi of Hasidism . Alter became one of the religious leaders of the Agudat Jisra'el party in Poland.

He was the grandson of Yitzchak Meir Alter (or Rothenberg, 1799–1866), the founder of the Ger group and known in Hebrew as the Chidushei HaRim , after his Torah work of the same title. Avraham Mordechai Alter was the fourth Gerrer Rebbe. His wife was the daughter of Noach Czarny, an important Gerrer Hasid in Biala . He had eight children with his first wife, Chaya Ruda Czarna. His eldest son, Rabbi Meir Alter (1883–1942), was a Torah scholar and entrepreneur who was murdered in Treblinka with his children and grandchildren. His second son, Rabbi Yitzchak Alter, died in Poland in 5695 (1934). In 1940 he was able to flee to Palestine with three of his sons .
