Abraham Stürler († 1624 ) was a Swiss magistrate .

Life

Abraham Stürler was born as the son of Aegidius Stürler and Anna von Mülinen and is thus a great-great-grandson of Adrian von Bubenberg . In 1584 he married Agatha Wurstemberger , in 1585 he became a member of the city council of Bern and from 1588 to 1594 he was bailiff in Oron . He was elected to the Small Council in 1595 and from 1597 to 1603 he was governor in Aigle . From 1603 to 1607 he was Venner zu Gerwern and from 1610 until his death Welschseckelmeister .

In 1612 he was envoy for the conclusion of an alliance between Bern and the Margrave of Baden-Durlach and in 1616 the first envoy to invoke the renewed castle rights with Neuchâtel and in 1617 to conclude an alliance with Savoy. Abraham Stürler owned the Chardonne VD castle .
