The Académica FC is an East Timorese football club . He is based in the state capital Dili and a foreign branch of the Portuguese Académica de Coimbra .
history
Académica was founded by Ruy Bento Pessoa in the Portuguese colonial times .
In 2006 the Académica FC took part in the Super Liga . In the first round you came second in the next round, but then failed in the semifinals against AD Esperança . In the game for third place, however, they won against FC Zebra .
In 2015 the qualifying round for the newly founded league Futebol Amadora took place. Académica FC became group winners of Group D and have therefore played in the Primeira Divisão since the 2016 season . In 2016 they came in fourth out of eight in the table, which ensured relegation for 2017 . In 2017 they came in 5th place and in 2018 in 6th place, which means they only just managed to stay in the league.
At Taça 12 de Novembro 2016 they were eliminated in the second round against eventual cup winners AS Ponta Leste . In 2017 and 2018 you failed in the first round.
