The league Futebol Amadora Primeira Divisão 2016 was the first season of the highest East Timorese football league . The season started on February 25th and ended on July 24th, 2016. The championship was Sport Laulara e Benfica .

mode

The clubs played a double round-robin tournament , resulting in a total of 14 games per team. The game was played according to the 3-point rule (three points per win, one point per tie). The table was determined according to the following criteria:

  1. Number of points scored
  2. Goal difference from all games
  3. Number of goals in all games

At the end of the season, the two clubs with the fewest points were relegated to the second-rate Segunda Divisão .

Attendees

All eight participants had previously participated in the Super League , the former highest league in East Timor. The clubs won a qualifying tournament, a simple round-robin tournament, from December 2015 to January 2016 and thus qualified for this season.
