The Associação Desportiva Sport Laulara e Benfica , Sport Laulara e Benfica or SLB for short , is an East Timorese sports club . It is based in Laulara in the municipality of Aileu , south of the state capital Dili .
History of the football department
In 2006 Laulara e Benfica took part in the Independence Cup and the Prime Minister's Cup.
In 2015 Laulara e Benfica reached in the qualifying round for the newly founded LFA Primeira Divisão in Group A place 2 of 5 and thus the entry into the highest league. In 2016 they became the first champions of the new league. In 2017 they finished fourth and in 2018 they came in fifth out of eight teams.
At the national cup, the Taça 12 de Novembro, they were eliminated in the semi-finals in 2016 . Laulara e Benfica lost the game against cup winners AS Ponta Leste for the Super Taça on November 24, 2016 1: 2. At Taça 12 de Novembro 2017 they failed again in the semifinals and also in 2018 .
In 2019, SLB won the East Timorese women's football championship .

Athletes of the club include the Olympians Augusto Ramos Soares (marathon and medium-distance runner) and Agueda Amaral (marathon runner).
Others
As an offshoot of the Portuguese club Benfica Lisbon, the club uses its logo.
The club's president is the former prime minister and president of the country Xanana Gusmão . Filomeno Pedro Cabral Fernandes was one of the founders .
