Access Linux Platform

The Access Linux Platform ( ALP ) is a Linux-based operating system for PDAs . It was developed by Access as the successor to Palm OS .

history

The Access Linux Platform was announced in February 2006. The first version of the platform and the software development kit were released in February 2007. The Edelweiss smartphone from Emblaze Mobile and the Monolith smartphone from Sharp were announced for 2009 in cooperation with Emblaze Mobile and seven other partners.

In November 2009 the device First Else was presented, which was not available for marketing due to a lack of partners.

Range of functions

Java programs , Palm OS programs, and GTK + -based Linux applications can be executed on PDAs with Access Linux Platform . The ALP is compatible with LiMo .
