Achaz von Buchwaldt (born September 18, 1944 in Grömitz ) is a former German show jumper and trainer. He has the distinction of riding master .

Career

The trained businessman von Buchwaldt initially rode on a rural level in Schleswig-Holstein. Due to the success achieved here, in 1967 he got the opportunity to work at DOKR in Warendorf. In 1969 he became European Champion of the Rural Riders in the Military . In 1970 he left DOKR and subsequently specialized in show jumping.

Von Buchwaldt had his greatest success at an international championship in 1983, when he took bronze with the team at the European Show Jumping Championships in Hickstead. At the German Show Jumping Championships in 1983 and 1991, he was able to take second place. He was also the winner of the German Jumping Derby in 1982 and 1996.

Lars Nieberg , who worked as a rider in von Buchwaldt's stable until 1990, was one of his students during his active sports career . From May 2005 to 2011 he held the position of national trainer for Danish show jumpers. In the mid-1990s he had already taken over the Pia-Luise Aufrecht training for a total of around six years .

In May 2012 Buchwaldt awarded the title of riding master at the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg.
