Achille Beltrame
Achille Beltrame (born March 18, 1871 in Arzignano ; died February 19, 1945 in Milan ) was an Italian painter and illustrator.
Life
Beltrame studied painting at the Accademia di belle arti di Brera with Giuseppe Bertini . In 1891 he received the Premio Mylius. From 1896 he worked as a graphic artist for Casa Ricordi , which in 1900 published a series of postcards for operas and balls, and in 1899 Luigi Albertini brought him to the Corriere della Sera to make the Sunday supplement La Domenica del Corriere attractive. In forty years Beltrame has created 4,662 drawings, a large number of which are colored front and back covers for the Sunday newspaper Domenica del Corriere , on which he illustrated current events. His successor at the Domenica del Corriere was Walter Molino in 1941 .
