Achim von Loesch

Achim von Loesch (born July 16, 1923 in Kammerswaldau, Silesia ; Polish Janowice Wielkie ; † June 1, 2019 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German banker, director of the Bank for Community Economy and theoretician of the community economy and alternative economy .

Career

Achim von Loesch was the eldest son of the Silesian landowner Ernst Heinrich von Loesch and his wife Martha, née von Boyneburgk. After military service , imprisonment and a commercial apprenticeship at the University of Marburg, he studied economics . Also with Wolfgang Abendroth . In Marburg he did his doctorate with Karl Paul Hensel . He began his professional career in 1955 in the economic department of the IG Metall board in Frankfurt. From there in 1959 he moved to the Bank für Gemeinwirtschaft (BfG) under Walter Hesselbach. He worked for the BfG between 1959 and 1980. Between 1967 and 1980 he was the managing director of the public economy department. In 1981 he moved to the Beteiligungsgesellschaft für Gemeinwirtschaft (BGAG) , where he was also the managing director of the community economy department until 1984. In 1984 he retired. He was still active as a journalist.

At IG Metall, he took up the topic of "wealth creation for employees" and developed a counter-position to Nell-Breuning and deepened it for a dissertation.

Together with Walter Hesselbach , in the 1960s and 1970s, building on the research work of Gerhard Weisser and Hans Ritschl, he developed a concept for the common economy and thus a philosophy for trade union corporate groups. From June 16, 1975 to October 16, 1987 he was a member of the Social Advisory Board .

He was married to the SPD politician Grete von Loesch, who was a member of the Frankfurt city parliament from 1968 to 1977 and 1981 to 1989 and is the daughter of the resistance fighter Heinrich Hamacher . You lived in Frankfurt / Main.

Achim von Loesch was related to the journalist and writer Maria Frisé . His son is the musicologist Heinz von Loesch .
