Location of Achthal in Bavaria

Achthal is a district of the municipality of Teisendorf in the Berchtesgadener Land district . The village of Achthal is located in the valley of the Oberteisendorfer Ache . In the village there is the Maria Schnee chapel and the Achthal mining museum , which deals with iron extraction on the Teisenberg . Mining lasted from 1537 to 1924 and reached a depth of 150 m. To the west of the village, the Maximilian II. Heir tunnel was used for dewatering .
