Adalbert Ebner

Adalbert Ebner (born December 16, 1861 in Straubing ; † February 25, 1898 in Eichstätt ) was a German Roman Catholic priest .

Life

He was ordained a priest in Regensburg in 1886 , presumably by Bishop Ignatius of Senestrey . There he subsequently served as vicar in the old chapel. From 1892 he was a lecturer in patristics , Christian archeology and liturgy at the Catholic University of Eichstätt. There he also served in the cathedral until his death in 1898, at the age of 36.

Ebner specialized in research on ancient liturgical books. He was the author of an academic monograph on the history of the Roman Missal with the title Sources and Research on the History and Art History of the Roman Missal in the Middle Ages.
