Adalbert Lutter
Adalbert Lutter (born October 20, 1896 in Osnabrück , † July 28, 1970 in Berlin ) was a German pianist , conductor and leader of one of the most famous Berlin dance and entertainment orchestras of the thirties .
Life
He founded his first band in Hanover immediately after the First World War . In 1922 he emigrated to South America - apparently due to the difficult economic situation in Germany - and stayed there until 1928. After returning to Germany, he set up an entertainment orchestra in Berlin that soon became one of the best in town. Since 1932 it has played regularly in the Wilhelmshallen am Zoo , in the Europa Pavilion and on the roof garden of Café Berlin and has worked with singers such as Eric Helgar , Rudi Schuricke , the Metropol Vokalisten , the Spree Revellers and others. a. together. Lutter was also a guest conductor at Telefunken and made numerous recordings with his orchestra for this company, but also for other record companies such as Deutsche Grammophon .
After the Second World War , his orchestra became the resident orchestra of the Berlin Radio under his direction . In 1961 he retired and died in Berlin in 1970.
