Adam Gatternicht (* 1819 in Heidelberg , † 1899 in Stuttgart ) was a Württemberg lithographer and publisher .

Live and act

Adam Gatternicht was an engraver as well as a chalk and pen illustrator. He also mastered color printing and created book illustrations, master works and views. From 1849 he ran a lithographic institute with an art publisher in Stuttgart, where he mainly published scientific illustrations and cityscapes. There are many views of Tübingen from Gatternicht .

Albert Kappis , whose mother was a cousin of Adam Gatternicht, trained as a lithographer in Adam Gatternicht's workshop from 1850 to around 1857.
