Adam Gottfried Oehme

Adam Gottfried Oehme (born July 28, 1719 in Grünhainichen ; † November 25, 1789 in Freiberg ) was a German organ builder who worked in the Electorate of Saxony in the 18th century .

life and work

Oehme was Gottfried Silbermann's last student . From about 1737 to 1743 learned organ building from the Freiberg master, was from 1744 to 1746 as a journeyman with Johann Ernst Hähnel in Meißen , and then worked as a journeyman at Silbermann until 1753. After Silbermann's death, he continued the Freiberg workshop together with Johann Georg Schön and took it over alone from 1764.
