Adam Henricpetri

Adam Henricpetri (also Adam Petri ; baptized January 17, 1543 in Basel ; † April 27, 1586 ibid) was a Swiss lawyer and historian.

Life

Adam Henricpetri from the Petri printer dynasty, son of Heinrich Petri , brother of Sebastian Henricpetri , probably completed several stays abroad after his schooling in Basel , including with Gilbert Cousin in Burgundy (Nozeroy), but also in Dole and several years in Italy . In 1560 he enrolled at the University of Basel , in 1564 he completed his doctorate in Ferrara as a " doctor utriusque juris ".

On January 20, 1565 he became professor for the Institutions belonging to the Justinian corpus juris , and in 1571 professor for the Codex . He was dean of the faculty several times , but in 1583 resigned his professorship after complaints and became city ​​clerk of Basel.
