Adam Ignaz Valentin Heunisch
Adam Ignaz Valentin Heunisch (born October 16, 1786 in Ettlingen , † March 4, 1863 in Baden-Baden ) was a grand-ducal Baden ministerial official who did pioneering work in the description of the country and statistics.
Life
Heunisch began studying in Heidelberg, which he soon had to abandon for financial reasons. He earned his living as a musician and theater man. In 1813 he was able to start a career in the administration of the Baden War Ministry and until 1841 he was appointed chief auditor in the war commissioner of the war department. On April 27, 1841 he was granted the character of war commissioner. and on May 14, 1842, he was retired "because of persistent sickness."
He published a number of geographic and statistical papers, in particular on the Grand Duchy of Baden. He also worked with Aloys Schreiber and Joseph Bader . Heunisch was awarded the Medal of Honor of the Paris Société de Géographie for his work . In Baden in 1841 he received the service award 2nd class for officers .
