Adam of Knuth

Adam von Knuth (* before 1587 ; † 1626 or 1627 in Leizen ) was a Mecklenburg district administrator and landowner. He was the heir to Leizen and Priborn.

Life

Adam von Knuth was the only son of Matthias von Knuth and Anna von Knuth, née von Freyberg. When his father died in 1587, Adam was still a minor. He inherited part of Leizen. On August 12, 1616 Adam von Knuth witnessed the sale of the Karchow estate .

After the death of his cousin Moritz von Knuth , he and Wentzloff IV von Knuth administered Moritz's manor in Priborn, although there was no economic success. Moritz's daughters had to be sent to the monastery

In 1626 he signed an exchange contract for fields in Spitzkuhn with Hennecke Morin on Ludorf and Kelle .

Marriage and offspring

The marriage with Catharine von Pritzbuer resulted in two children:

Anna von Knuth married her cousin Wentzloff IV. Von Knuth , with whom she had a son, Jacob Ernst von Knuth . One of his sons, Eckhard Christoph von Knuth , is the progenitor of the Danish Knuths .
