Adelgunde of Portugal
Adelgunde de Bragança (Portuguese: Dona Aldegundes de Jesus Maria Francisca de Assis e de Paula Adelaide Eulália Leopoldina Carlota Micaela Rafaela Gabriela Gonzaga Inês Isabel Avelina Ana Estanislau Sofia Bernardina de Bragança ) (born November 10, 1858 in Bronnbach an der Tauber, now: Wertheim ; † April 15, 1946 in Bern ) was Duchess of Guimarães and an Infanta of Portugal .
Life
Adelgunde was the daughter of King Michael I of Portugal and his wife, Princess Adelheid von Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg , who lived in exile in Bronnbach.
On October 15, 1876, she married the Prince of Parma Henri di Bourbon , a son of Duke Charles III. of Parma and the French Princess Louise Marie Thérèse de Bourbon-Artois , in Salzburg , Austria . The marriage of the two remained without offspring. Adelgunde had nine miscarriages.
Adelgunde spent the evening of her life in Bern , Switzerland , where she died on April 15, 1946 at the age of 87.
