Adelheid Bernhardt

Adelheid Bernhardt (born June 27, 1854 in Puschwitz near Torgau , † July 1915 in Dresden ) was a German writer , actress and director.

Life

Bernhardt grew up in Leipzig and Dresden, where she frequented artistic circles from an early age. In 1878 she joined the Dresden Ensemble guest performance as an actress , which she also led as director and director from 1883 to 1898. During this time it played under different names, such as Dresdener Schauspiel-Ensemble , Dresdener Gesammt-Gastspiel and Dresdener Ensemble . In 1890 the troupe appeared at the Ducal Court Theater Altenburg and in 1902 gave the last guest performance at the Central Theater in Dresden. Members of the Dresden ensemble guest performance included Pauline Ulrich and Ludwig Barnay . Guest performances have also taken the troupe abroad, for example to Amsterdam and Austria-Hungary .

As a writer, Adelheid Bernhardt stood out above all with biographical works that dealt with the theater or the opera. She died in Dresden- Blasewitz in 1915 .
