Adelheid Christine zu Schaumburg-Lippe  (born March 9, 1821 in Bückeburg , Schaumburg-Lippe , † July 30, 1899 in Itzehoe , Schleswig-Holstein , German Empire ) was a member of the German noble house Schaumburg-Lippe by birth. Through her marriage to Friedrich von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg , Adelheid was sister-in-law of Christian IX. from Denmark . From October 14, 1878 to November 27, 1885 she was Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg .

Adelheid was the second daughter of Georg Wilhelm von Schaumburg-Lippe and Princess Ida von Waldeck-Pyrmont and younger sister of Adolf I. Georg von Schaumburg-Lippe . Her two younger siblings were Wilhelm von Schaumburg-Lippe and Mathilde von Schaumburg-Lippe .

Marriage and offspring

Adelheid married Friedrich von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (later Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg ), the second son of Friedrich Wilhelm of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and Louise Karoline of Hessen-Kassel , on October 16 1841 in Bückeburg , Schaumburg-Lippe .
