Princess Luise Karoline von Hessen-Kassel (born September 28, 1789 in Gottorp , † March 13, 1867 in Ballenstedt ) was by marriage Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.

Life

Luise Karoline was the youngest daughter of Prince Karl von Hessen-Kassel , who had been made titular landgrave in 1805, and his wife Louise. She was a daughter of the Danish King Friedrich V and his first wife Louise , a daughter of the British King George II.

Luise Karoline married Duke Friedrich Wilhelm of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (1785–1831) on January 26th, 1810 , the only son of Duke Friedrich Karl of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck and Countess Friederike Amalie von Schlieben. The marriage had ten children:
