Adelheid II von Büren († November 3, 1220 in Gernrode ) was the abbess of the free secular monastery of Gernrode and Frose from 1207 to 1220 .

Life

Adelheid II comes from the von Büren family , a noble family that owned the lords of Büren (southwest of Paderborn), Wünnenberg and Wewelsburg .

The time when Adelheid II took office can only be roughly determined. She is referred to as abbess in a papal document from the beginning of August 1207, so she will probably have been elected in the first half of 1207.

During her reign, there were disputes over the office of truchess with the ministerials of the monastery, the brothers Arnold and Friedrich von Gernrode. The dispute was settled by an arbitration decision by Bishop Friedrich von Halberstadt on August 10, 1220.

The date of her death is likely November 3rd, 1220, as this was the day she was commemorated .
