The house Adelheidstraße 1 is a listed former inn in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

Architecture and history

The facility is located north of the Bode and was built as a half-timbered house around 1850, at that time still in front of the actual city of Quedlinburg. To the south of the house, the Itschensteg , which is also listed, leads over the Bode. The building is registered as an inn in the Quedlinburg monument register.

First of all, the middle single-storey part of the building was created, which has a three-storey gable that is not arranged in the middle . In 1872 the landlord R. Haustein had a concert hall added. The single-storey building stretches along the eaves along the street. Another extension took place in 1883. The owner was CH Richter . The builder Robert Riefenstahl added a veranda to the north side on his behalf . It was later dismantled into an enclosed space.

The framework is on a building base. In the framework of the lower floor there are St. Andrew's crosses that occupy the entire floor . There is a slight but hardly noticeable overhang on the upper floor.

According to plans by the architect Max Schneck , a massive two-storey part of the building in the Art Nouveau design was added on the west side by the Quedlinburg casino company .

From 1913 onwards, there were changing owners and the complex was used as an office . After being used as a company and school building (for adult education) at the end of the 20th century, a hotel and a restaurant were integrated into the building at the beginning of the 21st century.
