Quedlinburg District Court

The Quedlinburg District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Germany. It belongs to the district of the Magdeburg Regional Court and the Naumburg Higher Regional Court .

location

The seat of the court is Quedlinburg . The official building is located at Adelheidstrasse 2 , east of the historic Quedlinburg city center.

history

From 1815 the court had its seat in the Salfeldschen Palais . Later, until 2010, the company was located at Halberstädter Straße 45 , north of the old town. The current office previously served as a tax office, but was empty before the local court moved in. In the period after 1998 the building was placed under monument protection and is listed as an administrative building in the local register of monuments .

In 2001 an arson attack was carried out on what was then the seat of the Quedlinburg District Court . The fire broke out in the basement. In addition to the old administrative documents of the court, around 120 files, in particular from civil proceedings from before 1977, were destroyed.

Personalities

Between 1874 and 1879 the later president of a criminal senate at the Reichsgericht Gustav Kaufmann worked as a district judge in Quedlinburg. In 1902 the later Reich judge Heinrich Fickler became district judge in Quedlinburg.
