history
Bärenrode ( Berzincherothe ) was first documented in a declaration of ownership by Pope Alexander III on May 24, 1179 mentioned for the monastery Hagenrode near Alexisbad , but later fell desolate . After the Counts of Stolberg had bought the area from those of Hoym, Count Botho built a Vorwerk here and on the Billroda desert in 1518 at the earliest . In 1531 he formed the Bärenrode office from this, the villages of Breitenstein , Neudorf , half of Dankerode and some forest areas. In 1576 the Stolbergers pledged the office to Christoph von Hoym, who in turn pledged it to Prince Joachim Ernst von Anhalt in 1585. When Anhalt was divided into partial principalities, it fell to the Principality of Anhalt-Bernburg and, after the division of this principality, belonged to the Principality of Anhalt-Harzgerode from 1635 . After the Harzgeröder princely line died out, half of the office, the village of Breitenstein, half of Dankerode and some wooded areas fell back to Stolberg.
Bärenrode, which was run as an estate, was later incorporated into Güntersberge .
A country road leads through the village to Friedrichsbrunn with a branch to Allrode .
