history
In 1754, Prince Victor Friedrich von Anhalt-Bernburg founded the Hänichen Vorwerk. Previously there was a deserted desert of the same name at this point , on which a dilapidated church tower could still be seen in 1608. A horseshoe- shaped courtyard was created. In 1830 the Vorwerk, which was sold as a hereditary lease, was converted into a free estate for heirs and at the end of the 19th century it was turned into a forest recreation center, whose meadows served as a foal pasture for the Ballenstedt district. A two-story, elongated administrative building stands in the center. The facade is provided with vertical planking typical of the region . In addition, there are more modest side buildings.
