Blazon : "Three silver wave poles in blue, between two golden ears of wheat with two stalk leaves each."
The main colors of the coat of arms are - derived from the main coat of arms motif (wave posts) and shield color - silver (white) / blue.
The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Jörg Mantzsch . It refers to the three rivers Bode, Holtemme and Selke as well as to the agriculture that has been practiced in the villages since ancient times. Bode, Holtemme and Selke were essential for the former settlement and development of cities and communities. Their water was used for nutrition, for drinking cattle, for agriculture and was a basis for the beginning industrialization through the emergence of grinding, cutting and fulling mills. Agriculture, on the other hand, was the main livelihood in large parts of the population.
