In the administrative community Ballenstedt / Bode-Selke-Aue of the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt , seven municipalities were united to handle administrative business. 12,980 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​142.12 km² (as of December 31, 2008). The administrative community was created on January 1, 2005 through the merger of the administrative community Ballenstedt with the administrative community Bode-Selke-Aue .

The dissolution took place on January 1, 2010. Radisleben was incorporated into Ballenstedt, which became a unified municipality . The remaining communities became part of the Vorharz community , with Hausneindorf and Wedderstedt merging to form the community of Selke-Aue , which Heteborn joined.
