Location of the municipality of Selke-Aue in the Harz district

Selke-Aue is a municipality in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt . It is a member community of the Vorharz community .

The community was formed on January 1, 2010 from the voluntary amalgamation of the communities Hausneindorf and Wedderstedt . On the same day, the municipality of Heteborn was incorporated into this new municipality .

The merger took place against the background of the municipal area reform in Saxony-Anhalt and the minimum number of 1000 inhabitants in municipalities that belong to an association municipality, as stipulated in the accompanying law .

In the local elections on May 26, 2019 , the 12 seats in the local council were allocated to the following parties and groups of voters . The turnout in 2019 was 55.3%.

The coat of arms was approved by the district on November 30, 2011.

Blazon : "Above a silver shield base covered with a blue wavy strip in blue, in front a black grooved silver tower with a pointed hood and black window opening, in the middle a rising golden oak leaf and behind a black grooved silver tower with hipped roof and black window opening."

The colors of the parish are white - blue.

The coat of arms was designed by Karl-Heinz Fritze from Niederorschel.
