Harsleben is a municipality that belongs to the Vorharz association in the Harz district ( Saxony-Anhalt ).
geography
The place is located in the northern Harz foreland on the Goldbach, southeast of the district town of Halberstadt . The federal road 79 leads through the village to Quedlinburg , from which a connecting road branches off to the east to Wegeleben .
history
Harsleben was first mentioned in a document in 1136. The place belonged to the Diocese of Halberstadt until 1648 , which was then secularized and united as the Principality of Halberstadt with the Electorate of Brandenburg . Harsleben was the seat of its own office and in 1815 came to the administrative district of Magdeburg of the Prussian province of Saxony .

- The Protestant church of St. Simon and Judas , which characterizes the townscape, is a church from the early 17th century with a Romanesque tower and rich furnishings, including a valuable organ prospect.

economy
The traditional Rusack cheese dairy was located in Harsleben until August 2007 and was closed just a few years after it was taken over by the Müller Group . There are the usual handicraft businesses in the village, there are also a few car dealerships as well as food production companies and medical article manufacturers in the industrial park. There is also a gas station in Harsleben.
