Adelle "Bonnie" Lutz (born November 13, 1948 in New York City , New York ) is an American actress , costume designer and model .

Life

Adelle Lutz was born on November 13, 1948 in New York City as the daughter of the German Walter E. Lutz (1910–2003) and the Japanese Mona Lutz. Her sister Bettina Louise Lutz, born on April 18, 1950, who became known as a model under the name Tina Chow , died on January 24, 1992 at the age of only 41.

On July 18, 1987, she married the musician David Byrne , whom she had met in Japan. In 1990 their daughter Malu Abeni Valentine Byrne was born. The marriage was divorced in 2004.

Career

Lutz was often seen as an actress , especially in the 1980s and 1990s, her first appearance in a feature film was 1986 in Dangerous Friend as Rose , and the following year she had a small role as Janet on Oscar-winning Wall Street . She also played in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988 as Beryl, one of the Deetz family's party guests. As Anchorwoman she was in 1991 in The Silence of the Lambs seen. In 1995 she played the Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi in the drama Rangoon - In the Heart of the Storm .

As a costume designer , she worked on Making Mr. Right - A Man à la Carte and Lulu on the Bridge, among others .

She was the director of Erasure's Too Darn Hot music video.
