Adenovirus early region E1A protein (E1A) is a protein from the human adenovirus . It is in biochemistry and cell biology for the immortalization of cells used in mice, hamsters and rats.
properties
The adenovirus early region E1A protein is used by the adenovirus to replicate the viral genome . Furthermore, transforms it host cells from mice, hamsters and rats. However, only E1A proteins from some serotypes (AdV12) are oncogenic . while the transformed cells of other non-oncogenic serotypes (AdV2 and AdV5) are lysed in vivo by NK cells . It brings dormant cells to cell division by overcoming the checkpoints of the cell from the G 0 phase to the S phase . In the cell, it binds to pRB (synonymous RB1), p300 and CtBp . In addition, it leads to a dissociation of E2F1 from pRB, whereby genes of the S phase and the E2 region of the adenoviruses are expressed . It binds divalent zinc ions and is phosphorylated .
