The Adolf-Reichwein-Gymnasium (short: ARG ) is a high school in Heusenstamm . It is named after the German educator and resistance fighter against National Socialism Adolf Reichwein .

history

The Adolf-Reichwein-Gymnasium was opened on December 1, 1966. At the beginning it consisted of only two classes with 20 students of grade 7 each and five teachers.

The first school building, today's A building, was completed in 1970; previously the school classes were housed on the premises of the neighboring Adolf Reichwein School. With the increase in the number of students in the 1979/80 school year, an expansion of the school became necessary, which led to the construction of another school building, the B-building. In 1993, the construction of a building specially tailored to the natural sciences, the C-Building, followed.

The Adolf-Reichwein-Gymnasium is one of the few schools in Hesse that has a fully equipped observatory . Therefore, this is a central component in the logo of the grammar school. The observatory is operated by the “Sternfreunde Kreis Offenbach” association.

Student exchange

The Adolf-Reichwein-Gymnasium maintains partnerships with three other schools from Tonbridge (England), La Verpillière (France) and Mérida (Spain).
