Sabina Pauen

Sabina Pauen (* 31 January 1963 as Sabina Lamsfuß in Beuel ) is a German developmental psychologist and university teacher at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg .

life and work

After graduating from high school in 1981 in Heusenstamm, Pauen studied basic psychology at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 1982 , where she completed her intermediate diploma in 1984 . Meanwhile she worked as a research assistant to Viktor Sarris . She then went on to study psychology at the University of Marburg , where she received her diploma in 1988. From 1988 to 1989 she was a research assistant for Rainer K. Silbereisen at the University of Gießen before she devoted herself to her doctorate as a scholarship holder of the Volkswagen Foundation . Pauen graduated from the University of Frankfurt am Main in 1992 under the supervision of Friedrich Wilkening and was awarded a Dr. phil.-nat. PhD. After a research stay at Cornell University , Pauen became a scientific assistant in 1994 to Wilkening, who is now at the University of Tübingen . Under his supervision, Pauen completed his habilitation in 1999.

From 1999 to 2001 Pauen headed the Diagnostics, Intervention and Evaluation Center (DIEZ) at the University of Magdeburg . Since 2002 she has been a full professor at the Chair of Developmental Psychology and Biological Psychology at Heidelberg University . Her main research interests are in the area of ​​early childhood, especially with regard to the acquisition of categories and concepts and the understanding of causation, the theory of mind , social-cognitive development in mother-child interactions and self-regulation .

Pauen is married and the mother of two daughters (* 1996; * 2001).
