The Morro Izquierdo ( Spanish for left hill , in Chile Morro Jaña ) is a hill on Snow Hill Island south of the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . He is on the east side of the Spath Peninsula .
Argentine scientists named it as the counterpart to the Morro Derecho ( Spanish for right hill ). Chilean scientists, however, named him after Efraín Jaña Jirón, a participant in the 9th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1954–1955).
