Adolf Antrich (born December 8, 1940 in Leoben , Styria ) is a former Austrian soccer goalie and national player.

Career

Adolf Antrich began his career as a youth player in his home town of Leoben with the local railway sports club. At the age of 18 he switched to the works athletes in Donawitz in the top Austrian league. In the 1958/59 season he was able to occupy tenth place in the State League A with the Donawitzers , but had to accept relegation to the State League B with the team in the following season. Antrich then left the Montanstädter and moved to the regional league team Kapfenberger SV . With the Kapfenberg team he was champion of the Regionalliga Mitte in the first year and rose again to the state league. The next few years in Antrich's career were marked by relegation battle and re-promotion with the KSV.

From 1967 his next stop was Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz . But even with the Bregenz team, Antrich had to accept relegation from the first division in 1969 and so he tried his luck in the 1969/70 season with the previously solid Carinthian medium- sized company SK Austria Klagenfurt . But as if a curse hung over him, he drove with the Klagenfurters the immediate relegation from the now national league.

Antrich, however, was convincing in his role as a goalkeeper even with the clubs in danger of relegation and in 1970 received an offer from the federal state association Austria Salzburg, which was massively strengthening for this season . In Salzburg , the Styrian finally found a solid environment and played with his new club for the championship title until the last round. In the end, winning the runner-up title was enough for the first major success in his football career. With convincing performances he played his way into the display and in July 1971 even achieved a commitment to the Austrian record champions Rapid Vienna .

As green and white, he celebrated his debut in the Austrian national team on October 10, 1971 in a 6-0 victory in Linz in the European Championship qualifier against Ireland . He recorded his second and last appearance in the following match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome against Italy , also part of the European Championship qualification , which ended in a 2-2 draw. With the Hütteldorfern the Leoben won on June 3, 1972 against the Wiener Sportclub the Austrian Cup competition with a 3: 1 nV (after a first leg 1: 2 on May 17) - and the runner-up title in the 1972/73 season . After his engagement with Rapid, Adolf Antrich played for a few years for DSV Alpine from 1975 and then ended his career.
