Adolf Brunnlechner (born April 6, 1863 in Mürzzuschlag , Styria , † December 1, 1960 in Graz , Styria) was an Austrian painter, graphic artist and art historian.

Brunnlechner first completed the teacher training college and passed the state examination in French before studying archeology and art in Graz. He studied watercolor painting with Heinrich Bank in Graz and Augusto Ballerini in Trieste , Austria . At the suggestion of Josef Strzygowski , he dealt with classical and oriental art history.

From 1886 to 1890 Brunnlechner taught at the Consular School in Constantinople . For two decades he directed a state school in Trieste; later he was still active as a teacher in St. Radegund near Graz and at the teacher training institute in Graz.

Brunnlechner's drawings of nature and landscapes in particular have come down to us, as well as art historical contributions to Graz newspapers and to the Heimgarten magazine founded by Peter Rosegger . His estate is in the Styrian State Library and in the Graz City Museum , his grave in the St. Leonhard Cemetery .
