Adolf Dabelow

Adolf Otto Gerhard Dabelow (born June 28, 1899 in Magdeburg , † July 27, 1984 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German anatomist and professor of medicine.

Life

From 1920 to 1926 Dabelow studied medicine and zoology in Freiburg i. B. In 1926 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. nat. in zoology at the University of Freiburg on “The swimming adaptation of birds. A contribution to the biological anatomy of locomotion ”, in 1927 the doctorate to Dr. med. at the University of Freiburg, 1929 habilitation in anatomy at the University of Kiel .

From 1929 to 1932 he was a private lecturer in anatomy at the University of Kiel, then senior assistant at the University of Marburg , 1935/36 there nplao. Professor of Anatomy, 1936 to 1942 o. Professor of Anatomy at the LMU Munich , 1942 to 1945 o. Professor of Anatomy at the Medical Faculty of the University of Leipzig . Since 1946 he taught as full professor for anatomy at the University of Mainz . There he became rector in 1952/53.

Dabelow signed the confession of professors at German universities and colleges to Adolf Hitler . He was a member of the SA since 1933, the NSDAP since 1937 and a supporting member of the SS . He was also in the NSLB from 1934 to 1937, in the NS Lecturer Association from 1937 to 1945 and in the NS Altherrenbund from 1940 to 1944.

Dabelow was a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences in Munich 1942–1943 and a corresponding member 1943–1984. In addition, Dabelow was a full member of the mathematical and natural science class of the Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig 1944–1945 and a corresponding member 1945–1984.
