Adolf Fervers (born May 21, 1862 in Kempen ; † May 18, 1931 in Leichlingen ) was a lawyer, government official and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Fervers attended elementary school and grammar school in Kempen and studied law at the universities of Würzburg and Bonn . In 1885 he became a trainee lawyer, in 1889 an assessor and from 1889 to 1891 he was professor of criminal law at the University of Friborg (Switzerland) . Until 1893 he was provisionally employed at the regional courts of Aachen , Cologne , Bonn and in 1893 he became a regional judge in Elberfeld . In 1895 he was transferred to the management of indirect taxes, where he became a councilor in 1898. Afterwards he was a secret government councilor, head of the stamp and inheritance tax office in Düsseldorf and a member of the Cologne customs directorate . He was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, IV class .

From 1904 to 1908 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Düsseldorf (city and state) and from 1907 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Aachen 1 ( Schleiden , Malmedy , Montjoie ) and the German Center Party .
