Franz Adolf Freiherr von Seckendorff (born March 17, 1857 in Debschwitz , today in Gera , † May 8, 1941 in Waldsieversdorf ) was a Prussian infantry general in the First World War .

Life

origin

He came from the noble family Seckendorff and was the son of Evan Freiherr von Seckendorff († August 5, 1882 in Debschwitz) and his wife Pauline, born von Flemming († October 26, 1864 in Debschwitz). His brother was the later Prussian general of the infantry Gustav von Seckendorff (1848-1924).

Military career

After graduating from the Cadet Corps , Seckendorff joined the 7th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 96 of the Prussian Army on April 23, 1874 as a portepeef ensign . There he was promoted to Second Lieutenant on October 12, 1875 , and on April 15, 1884, transferred to the 2nd Guards Regiment on foot .

During the First World War, Seckendorff was the military governor of Estonia in Reval and commanding general of General Command 68 from March 16 to November 11, 1918 .

family

Seckendorff married on October 6, 1892 in Minden with Johanna von Voss, née Freiin von Beust.
