Adolf Greiß

Adolf Greiß (born October 20, 1829 in Cologne ; † October 10, 1895 there ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Greiß was the son of garden director Jakob Greiß attended the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Cologne and studied law at the universities of Bonn , Heidelberg and Berlin from 1848 to 1851. He acted as a justice of the peace in Rheinberg and Ratingen and as a district judge in Düsseldorf and Cologne.

From 1890 to February 1895 and from May 1895 until his death he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Cologne District 1 ( Cologne City ) and the German Center Party . In February 1895 his mandate was declared invalid, but he was re-elected in the subsequent by-election. Since 1886 he was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the same constituency.
