Adolf Schulz-Evler

Adolf Andrzej Schulz-Evler (born December 12, 1852 in Radom , † May 15, 1905 in Warsaw ) was a Polish pianist and composer .

The student of the Warsaw Conservatory ( Rudolf Strobl , piano and Stanisław Moniuszko composition) and of Carl Tausig in Berlin was from 1888 to 1904 professor of piano in Charkow . All but one of his 52 works, piano pieces and songs, have been forgotten. An exception to this is his difficult to play piano transcription arabesques on themes from the waltz On the beautiful blue Danube by Johann Strauss , which belonged to the repertoire of many virtuosos such as Josef Lhévinne , Jorge Bolet and Earl Wild .
