Adolf X. (Schaumburg)

Adolf X. according to another count Adolf XII. (* 1419 ; † May 24, 1474 ) was the ruling Count of Holstein-Pinneberg .

He was the eldest son of Otto II von Holstein-Pinneberg and Elisabeth von Hohnstein . He himself was married to Irmgard von Hoya (born November 23, 1414) and died in 1474.

Adolf XII. ruled Holstein-Pinneberg and the ancestral county of Schauenburg together with his brother Erich from 1464 to 1474. During the joint reign of the two brothers, construction of a castle in Pinneberg began on the site of the old castle. It was first built in the Gothic style , but was later completed in the Renaissance style.
