Adrián Campos Jr. (Born October 5, 1988 in Valencia ) is a Spanish racing driver . He competed in the Auto GP in 2011 . His father is the racing driver and team owner Adrián Campos .

Career

Campos began his motorsport career in karting in 2003 and remained active in this sport until 2004. In 2005 he switched to the single-seater racing and was sixth in the Spanish Formula Master Junior. He also made his debut for his father's team, Campos Racing, in the Spanish Formula 3 championship and competed in a race. In 2006 he stayed in Spanish Formula 3 and competed for Escuela Profiltek Circuit . He was 18th overall and third in the Copa de España . In 2007 he returned to his father's team and achieved tenth place overall with two second places as the best results. In 2008 Campos achieved his first victory in Spanish Formula 3. While his team-mate Germán Sánchez won the championship title, he finished eighth. In 2009 he stayed with his father's team in the championship, which has now been renamed the European F3 Open . Campos won two races this season and finished fourth in the drivers' championship. His team mate Bruno Méndez won the championship title.

In 2010 Campos left Europe and switched to the North American Indy Lights . He started as a teammate of James Hinchcliffe for the Moore Racing team . While Hinchcliffe was runner-up, the Spaniard finished sixth in the championship with three fourth places as the best results. He was also the second best newcomer behind the master Jean Karl Vernay . In 2011 Campos returned to Europe and joined his father's team in the Auto GP . During practice on the first race weekend in Monza , Campos had a serious accident in which he broke two vertebrae. He therefore had to take a break due to injury on the first three race weekends. At the end of the season he was 16th overall.
