Adrian Bohlen
Adrian Bohlen (born October 19, 1679 in Aurich , † March 17, 1727 in Jever ) was a German cantor and organist .
Life
Bohlen comes from an East Frisian family of teachers and organists. In 1697 he enrolled at the University of Wittenberg and studied theology there . In 1700 Christian Eberhard von Ostfriesland appointed him court cantor in Aurich. In 1702 he became music director in Stade , and in 1705 he followed a call from Prince Karl Wilhelm von Anhalt-Zerbst to Jever, where he worked as cantor and organist at the town church.
His work is largely lost. Only the Prussian State Library is the only one to keep a cantata , Oh Lord, poor me sinner for soprano, bass and four-part choir, for the 3rd Sunday after Trinity .
