Create

Pavlov's compositions are strongly influenced by extra-musical influences, especially from the fields of literature , painting and film . His main interest in the creative process is the shaping of time and the possibility of experiencing it from a wide variety of subjective and objective perspectives. In this respect, the problem of rhythmic organization is also important for his music.

From a technical point of view, many of Pavlov's works are based on isorhythmic principles , with metric structures from the irregular Bulgarian folklore as well as its variants and derivatives often playing an essential role in the rhythmic area . Precisely regulated tempo relations and partly simultaneous courses of different tempos are among his preferred means of musical organization.

The shape, but also the formation of melodies and harmonies, and in some cases the instrumentation, are often controlled by mathematical procedures that have points of contact with algorithmic composition processes ( L systems ). Micro-intervals also play a decisive role in the melodic and harmonic range .
